Coyote Creek Bridge

Built 1922Howe Truss60 ft spanNRHP #

Coyote Creek Bridge is a 60-foot Howe truss covered bridge spanning Coyote Creek in the Coast Range foothills of Lane County, Oregon. Built in 1922, it serves rural Territorial Road in the broad valley west of Eugene where the foothills begin to rise toward the coast.

The bridge is a compact, practical structure typical of the smaller creek crossings built in Lane County during the early 20th century, when the county maintained an extensive network of covered bridges to serve agricultural and timber communities throughout the western valley.

Coyote Creek Bridge was constructed in 1922 as part of Lane County's ongoing program to provide reliable timber crossings for rural roads throughout the county. The Coyote Creek drainage west of Eugene served a mix of small farms and early timber operations in the transitional zone between the valley floor and the Coast Range.

The bridge has been maintained by Lane County as part of its covered bridge preservation program.
