Fisher School Bridge is a 72-foot Howe truss covered bridge spanning Five Rivers in Lincoln County, Oregon. Built in 1919, it is one of the older surviving covered bridges in the county, also known as the Five Rivers Bridge, serving the rural communities of the Five Rivers drainage in the Coast Range.
The bridge carries Fisher Road and stands in a forested setting characteristic of the Oregon Coast Range, where heavy annual rainfall made covered bridges especially valuable for extending the life of timber decks.
Fisher School Bridge was constructed in 1919 during the early period of covered bridge building in Lincoln County, when the Howe truss design was becoming the dominant structural system for Oregon's timber bridges. Its survival for over a century reflects the quality of original construction and periodic maintenance.
Also known as the Five Rivers Bridge, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. The bridge represents one of the few surviving covered bridges in the coastal Oregon hill country, where heavy precipitation accelerated decay in unprotected structures.
