Horse Creek Bridge

Built 1930Howe Truss105 ft spanNRHP #

Horse Creek Bridge is a 105-foot Howe truss covered bridge originally spanning Myrtle Creek in Douglas County, Oregon. Built in 1930, it was relocated between 1987 and 1990 to a city park in Myrtle Creek, where it now serves as a landmark and pedestrian attraction.

The bridge's relocation preserved a significant example of Douglas County's covered bridge heritage. Its setting in a public park makes it among the most accessible of Douglas County's covered bridges.

Horse Creek Bridge was constructed in 1930 to carry rural traffic across Myrtle Creek in Douglas County. By the late 1980s, the bridge had been removed from active highway service, and rather than demolish it, the community arranged for its relocation to a city park in Myrtle Creek between 1987 and 1990.

The bridge has served as a community landmark and historic feature of the park since its relocation, preserving the covered bridge tradition in Douglas County.
