Pass Creek Bridge

Pass Creek Bridge is a 61-foot Howe truss covered bridge spanning Pass Creek near Drain in Douglas County, Oregon. Built in 1925, it is one of the older surviving covered bridges in Douglas County, carrying Pass Creek County Road through the pastoral farm country of the upper Umpqua drainage.

The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, making it one of the early recognized covered bridges in Douglas County. Its setting in the agricultural lowlands near Drain gives it a different character from the forested canyon bridges of the North Umpqua country to the east.

Pass Creek Bridge was constructed in 1925 to serve the farming communities in the Pass Creek valley near Drain. The area had been settled since the 1850s and supported a mix of grain farming, dairying, and small-scale logging that required reliable rural road infrastructure.

The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 and has been maintained as part of Douglas County's effort to preserve its covered bridge heritage.
