Sandy Creek Bridge is a 60-foot Howe truss covered footbridge spanning Sandy Creek near Remote in Coos County, Oregon. Built in 1921, it is the only surviving covered bridge in Coos County and one of the few on the southern Oregon coast.
The bridge spans a small coastal creek in the remote hill country of Coos County, where the heavy rainfall and isolation of the area made covered construction valuable for extending bridge life.
Sandy Creek Bridge was constructed in 1921 to serve the isolated homesteads and small farms in the Sandy Creek drainage of Coos County. It is the sole remaining covered bridge in Coos County and carries the distinction of being a footbridge, serving pedestrian traffic rather than vehicles.
The bridge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and stands as a rare example of the covered bridge tradition along Oregon's southern coast.
